Ulta 3 Lipstick ~ Review + Swatches

I am those who must do research before or after buying any cosmetic products. I have been searching for swatches or even color chart of the Ulta 3 lipsticks range, but I don’t know why these fantastic babies are nowhere to be found online( I did found one or two, but that is not enough for me). That’s why I decided to do swatches for my whole Ulta3 collection.

I am a big fan of Ulta3 after I got a 50 cents Ulta 3 nail polish at Coles in May this year. Since then, my Ulta 3 collection started to build up. I got approximately 50 Ulta3 nails colors (that I will show it to you guys later this year). I started to use its lipsticks after the package has change.

I got 7 lipsticks from the moisturizing collection:

From L to R : 02 Vintage Rose, 05 Green Magic, 25 Mauve Blush, 39 Peaches, 40 Coral Reef, 49 Soft Rose, 53 Nude Coral.

All of these are sheer. The formula is thin, you may need to apply a few layer in order to build up the color. The most special one is the 05 Green Magic. When I first saw this I thought who will get a green lipstick, so I didn’t even swatch it on my hand. But then I read a review of this in the makeup utopia. WOW! This is Magic@@!!!!  It changed from green to pink!! The hp rate on the your lips will determine how pink will it be, so I recommend not to use lip balm before applying this or it will turn into shocking pink. In my collection of moisturizing lipsticks, all of them have shimmer except the 05 Green magic and 40 Coral reef.

Price: $2.95 in Australia??!! Amazing!!!!

Longevity: Average (except 05 Green Magic, it stains), but acceptable. I think most of the longevity of lipsticks is more or less the same, only lip stain can last a bit longer.

Let’s move on to the matte lipsticks.

From L to R: 33 Pink Pount, 31 Misty Mauve, 32 Sandal wood

The matte finish isn’t drying, but can be transformed to different finishes if you apply lip-balm beforehand, or gloss on top. The pigmentation is great. These lipsticks remind me of the Innoxa Lovely Lipstick ($14.95) I got from the Priceline beauty bag early this year. But for less than 1/3 of the price, the quality of these lipsticks is fantastic.

Price: $3.95
Longevity:  Good. After these swatches and showering once that night and once the next morning there are still colours left on my arm)

In short, these lipsticks are fantastic for the price. I don’t own any NYW lipstick so I cannot compare the quality. But in my opinion, it is hard to get NYX in Australia, we can only buy it online, thus, we cannot try the colour out before purchasing. So why not buy the Ulta3 lipstick in Australia Pharmacies? At least we can try it on our hands to see how it looks like before paying for them.
